Acrylic

Paint using traditional pigments mixed with synthetic resins.

Oil

Paint consisting of pigments bound with linseed oil or carnations. The traditional technique consists of superimposing layers of paint increasingly rich in oil for a solid and durable hanger.

Watercolor

Watercolor is a painting in which gum arabic binds transparent pigments revealing the of the painting. The gouache, of identical composition, is opaque. A watercolor is a water-based painting on paper. We rarely speak of a painting for a work painted in watercolor. Watercolor paintings are considered to be a unique way to creatively represent dreams, illusions, emotions and luminous feelings using water soluble pigments. However, painting with watercolors can be difficult. It's a difficult medium to master, in large part because it can be ruthless and unpredictable. Mistakes are difficult to correct and its fluid nature makes it difficult to control. Yet it is these very qualities that give the medium its undeniable charm.

Charcoal

Drawing made with a branch of Willow or charcoal of charred Europe. It enables to obtain very deep blacks, precise traces, thin or on the contrary very broad, depending on the way it is used.

Chalk

Drawing made with chalk, a white marine rock that is traditionally white in colour and can sometimes be coloured.

Gouache

The substances are diluted with water and rendered pasty and opaque by the addition of gum and honey. The colors become opaque and can, therefore, be superimposed, which makes one paint with gouache as with oil. The gouache is recommended by its bright, fresh and delicate tones.

Lacquer

Paint made with a resin from tree sap, various shrubs or with lacquer paints based on thermosetting resins. The technique consists in superimposing layers of lacquers with a vigorous polishing between each layer. It is mostly smooth shiny, but can sometimes also be satin or very Matt.

Conté

Colored drawing made with colored pencil, an instrument made of a small wooden stick used as a sheath for a colored mine of the same length.

Pastel

Drawing made with a colored stick. It consists of pigments, a charge and a binder. A distinction is made between dry pastels (soft or hard) and fatty pastels (oil or wax).

Pigments

Paint made with colored powder suspended in a liquid binder to obtain some paint or ink.

Enamel

Paint made with molten glass powder and oxide. The enamels are then applied by mixing them with distilled water. There is a form of vitrifiable enamel which consist of mixing the oxides with very little glass and oil until a paste is obtained. They are then applied as a painting.

Tempera

Paint based on an emulsion, greasy or lean with a pigment. Traditionally it is a painting using egg yolk, a natural emulsion, or whole egg as a medium to bind pigments.

Outsider Art

Invented by Jean Dubuffet (1901-1985) in 1945, the idea is to create works with primitive graphics that take no academic reference into . He will also advise to "draw like a child" and encourage self-taught artists.

Adam-Shinkstall

Adam Shinkstall (pseudonimo) è un Poeta e Pittore autodidatta nato in Sardegna nel 1968. Fin da bambino ha manifestato una ione per la pittura, mostrando quelle capacità di dipingere al di fuori degli schemi scolastici convenzionali.
Dopo aver conseguito il diploma, ha proseguito i suoi studi presso la facoltà di Lettere Moderne alla Sapienza di Roma, trasferendosi per tutto il periodo universitario, in un appartamento, nel centro Città. In questi anni di studio, ha lavorato part-time, in uno studio di ingegneria della capitale, dove ha lavorato come disegnatore di opere in C.A.
La sua carriera professionale lo ha visto impegnato per circa un ventennio come disegnatore di interni, progettista tecnico e topografo. Tuttavia, l’interesse avvertito per tutte le forme d'arte, (in particolare per la pittura e la poesia), ritornava costantemente nella sua vita. Questo interesse si è manifestato in una produzione artistica intermittente, alternando momenti di intensa creatività a periodi di distacco totale dalla pittura, durante i quali si è concentrato sul lavoro, sulla poesia e su altre forme d'arte è ioni. Le influenze della pittura dei "Nabis" si della fine del 1800 e di altri artisti simili della Roma degli anni '80 e '90 del 1900 si riflettono nelle sue opere.

Nonostante le sfide personali, A.S., ha sempre trovato ispirazione nell'eclettismo artistico e nella vivace scena culturale del XIX° secolo. La sua vita trasmette un'aura di bohémien moderno, in sintonia con l'atmosfera degli artisti "Maudit" , che lo ha spinto a esplorare nuove tecniche e ad abbracciare un approccio non convenzionale alla sua arte. Attualmente, si dedica completamente alla pittura e al giornalismo, conducendo regolarmente una rubrica su una nota rivista italiana. Di carattere schivo, affabile e introverso, trascorre la sua esistenza, isolato nella sua casa/studio, dimostrando una costante ricerca di nuovi stimoli e di un proprio stile che lo portano a sperimentare nuove tecniche nelle sue opere d'arte, mantenendo viva l'eredità culturale della sua formazione.
