Alvaro Robles is a contemporary Chilean painter with a rich artistic background that traces back to his upbringing in a family of artists. His father, a distinguished Chilean painter, guided him into the world of art, instilling in him the foundational skills that would shape his career.

From an early age, Robles was immersed in a diverse artistic education, studying music, violin, and piano, alongside dedicated lessons in drawing and painting. In his teenage years, he expanded his creative toolkit by exploring analog photography and visual communication workshops, where he began to sell his first works, marking the start of his professional journey.

Driven by a fascination with mathematics, Robles initially pursued engineering studies. During his time at university, he also took up theater, eventually forming his own company and discovering a ion for theater direction. Meanwhile, he began teaching painting, developing a unique instructional method that enabled him to transition into a full-time career as an artist.

After his brief engineering studies, Robles earned a Master’s degree in Arts with a focus on theater direction. This dual ion for painting and theater has become a defining feature of his work, blending the narrative elements of stagecraft with the expressive qualities of visual art.

Since 2016, Robles has embarked on a global journey, traveling through South America, Europe, and Africa, capturing inspiration from diverse landscapes and cultures. His works from this period reflect the spirit of exploration, each piece infused with the essence of the places he has visited. Robles continues to travel, eager to portray the world through his artistic lens.
