Carlos Gamez de Francisco, born in 1987 in Holguín, Cuba, is a contemporary artist based in Fort Myers, Florida. Throughout his career, he has garnered numerous accolades, including the Fine Art Photographer of the Year at the Moscow International Photo Awards and Honorable Mentions at both the International Color Awards and the Tokyo International Photo Awards. His achievements also include the Museum Guild Purchase Award from the Evansville Museum, the SAIC Distinguished Scholarship at The Art Institute of Chicago, and the Key to the City of Louisville awarded by Mayor Greg Fischer. Additionally, he participated in the “Dreammakers” Artist in Residence program at the Muhammad Ali Center.

Gamez de Francisco has exhibited his work in solo shows at prestigious venues, including the 21c Museum in Bentonville, Arkansas; Kenise Barnes Fine Art in Larchmont, New York; Hardcore Art Contemporary Space in Miami, Florida; the Muhammad Ali Museum in Louisville, Kentucky; and the Colonial Museum of Fine Arts in Havana, Cuba. His work is represented in several significant collections, such as the 21c Museum in Louisville, the Fashion Resource Center at The Art Institute of Chicago, the Cubaocho Museum & Performing Arts Center in Miami, and Louisville Metro Hall. Through his art, Carlos Gamez de Francisco continues to make a notable impact on the contemporary art scene.
