Doris Meissner lebt und arbeitet in Tirol. Die bunten Lichter der Welt erblickte sie im Jahre 1960 auf der Hohenloher Ebene. Im frühen Kindesalter brachte sie sich das Malen selbst bei. Wenn ihrem Vater die Zeichnungen gefielen, hat er sie mit kleinen Geschenken belohnt - das spornte sie an!
Im Laufe der Jahre hat sie die Malerei vernachlässigt, da die Schule, später Beruf und Familie sie voll in Anspruch genommen haben.
Dreißig Jahre später, nach einer schweren Erkrankung, kam die Freude daran, etwas Schönes für sich selbst zu schaffen, wieder zu ihr zurück. Ihre unermüdliche Schaffenskraft und ihr Wissensdurst führte die Malerin durch einige Schulen. Sie erlernte zahlreiche Techniken, wie Aquarell, freies Zeichnen, Gouache, Tempera, Bleistiftzeichnen und zuletzt Acrylmalerei bei der bekannten Vorarlberger Künstlerin Maria Gabriel.
Die Werke von Doris Meissner zeichnen sich durch emotionale Kraft, Reichtum an Motiven und Maltechniken, und als zentrales Ausdrucksmittel stets kräftige Farben aus. Ihr Hauptthema sind berühmte Frauen mit charismatischen Gesichtern.
