Ich bin Chrys Zumstein, geboren 1980 in Langenthal, Kanton Bern. Lebe und arbeite in Zürich. Mein Leben gleicht einem Kaleidoskop aus Widersprüchen, in dem sich verschiedene Facetten meiner Existenz miteinander verweben.
Ich irrte umher, gefangen in einem Gefühl der Unvollständigkeit, auf der Suche nach etwas, das mir das Gefühl von Sinn und Erfüllung geben könnte. Die Welt um mich herum war ein stummer Zeuge meines inneren Kampfes, und ich fühlte mich oft verloren.
Mit 29 Jahren wagte ich schliesslich den mutigen Sprung in die Kunstschule – ein Schritt ins Ungewisse, der von Nervenkitzel und Unsicherheit begleitet war. Es war, als hätte ich den Schlüssel zu einem verborgenen Teil meiner Seele gefunden.
An der F+F Schule für Kunst und Mediendesign tauchte ich tief in die Themen Menschlichkeit, Realität und Fantasie ein. Widersprüche wurden zu meinen Lehrmeistern, und ich liess mich von den Gedanken grosser Denker wie Hegel und Marx inspirieren. Ich erkannte, dass Gegensätze nicht nur Konflikte sind, sondern die Essenz unserer Realität formen. In meinen Kunstwerken versuche ich, diese philosophischen, sozialen und historischen Kontraste sichtbar zu machen. Ich stelle visuelle Elemente gegeneinander, um die Betrachter zum Nachdenken über die komplexen Widersprüche des Lebens anzuregen.
Ein klassisches Beispiel ist die Dialektik von Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, die darauf abzielt, Widersprüche als grundlegende Elemente der Realität zu verstehen. Hegel argumentiert, dass Widersprüche nicht als isolierte Probleme zu betrachten sind, sondern als bedeutende Motoren für Veränderung und Entwicklung. In diesem Sinne führt jede These (eine Idee oder Zustand) zu ihrer Antithese (Gegenteil oder Widerstand) und zusammen generieren sie eine Synthese – eine neue Realität, die beide Aspekte integriert.
