About the author 6i2t4e
I am an Experimental artist, in these 40 years I have immersed myself in the different historical realities of modern and contemporary art. I have always used forms and concepts of naturalistic inspiration, and then transposed them into my inner experience, elaborating them a second time to transfer them into a functional linguistic code.
I am inspired by flowers for the enchantment I feel in observing the power and magnificence of a flower in its maximum ethereal expression, fragility to represent my own existence.
The landscape is my favorite subject in complex abstract realizations, I work by generally processing my photographs, trying after the first (naturalistic) sketches to bring to the surface from my memories, the emotions and dreams induced by that vision by abstracting everything I can synthesize.
The portraits are inspired by the countless faces I meet at the bar while I'm intent on drinking a cappuccino, I memorize them in their main features and their mostly thoughtful expressions, almost foreign to themselves.
The main techniques used:
The pastel is a technique that I used in childhood, studying at the Salesians was a moment of total evasion and concentration for me when I reproduced drawings that I found interesting in textbooks. Today this technique in its slow and necessarily contemplative execution allows me to still find that serenity.
Gouache-style gouache on canvas is a technique that I learned at the Albertina Academy working with a great expert like Sergio Saroni, unlike the pastel that I use in many other works, gouache allows me to be fast and spontaneous without taking anything away from the expressiveness of the subject.
Using oil was a challenge for me after the various experiences with the other techniques inherent to my essence as an artist, I immediately loved its potential, such as viscous fluidity, extended backgrounds, transparencies and much more to experiment in the future, perhaps...
