Gijs Possel is a Dutch photographer whose career began as an autodidact before he decided to formalize his learning by studying photography. For him, photography has always had a magical dimension, allowing to separate a fragment from the whole while maintaining a sense of completeness. He is dedicated to capturing the essence of landscapes and translating a minimal atmosphere that, according to him, represents a form of visual meditation.
His work covers a wide range of subjects, from landscapes to still lifes, macro photography and abstraction. His ion for dance and music, especially flamenco, is central to his art. As a child, he was deeply influenced by the beauty and complexity of flamenco, a ion that led him to regularly visit the south of Spain. These visits allowed him to meet many flamenco artists and capture their energy and soul in their performances. For Gijs Possel, every moment of this experience, full of depth, warmth and ion, is a precious moment that he is honored to be able to immortalize.
