Many of my paintings and graphic works are dedicated to the theater, because the creation of scenography for performances has fascinated me for more than 20 years. I created the scenery for about 200 performances in different theaters of Ukraine. In my creative activity, the theater is closely intertwined with painting and graphics. This is how a series of theatrical images and characters turned out, in which the main thing is not external resemblance, but the disclosure of a person’s spiritual qualities using theatrical means and symbols.
Once on a train, an elderly man told me the story of his whole life. It so happened that he was left alone with three small children in his arms. Two teenagers and a newborn girl. These were his children, and he decided to devote his life to the upbringing, education and happiness of children. It was not easy, but now his older children have received education and have their own families. The man is no longer young and hopes that he will have enough time and energy to raise his youngest daughter and she will be happy ...
This story inspired me. She remained in my soul and embodied in the work that she wrote. Mountains with gloomy and indifferent faces are the obstacles that this man has overcome. A man sits on a light cloud and has become higher than everyday problems. Older children are also on the cloud. He is not young, snow covered his hair, but you need to have time to help the little girl rise to a height. A man unwinds the threads of his clothes in order to warm her and help to climb the stairs as high as possible. Coldly. Winter is coming soon...
I hope, dear viewer, this story will also delight your soul.
Graphic work is done in mixed media: gouache and acrylic on paper, 2011.
