Juan Sebastian Barbera is a contemporary Mexican artist renowned for his extensive body of work spanning various mediums, including drawings, engravings, acrylics, oils, sculptures, and art objects. Since 1990, Barbera has traveled across Europe, living in cities such as Vienna, Madrid, Barcelona, and Paris, where he drew inspiration from the works of artists like Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, Francisco Goya, and Pablo Picasso. These experiences helped shape his artistic vision, leading him to create approximately 5,000 pieces of art throughout his career.
Barbera has held over 40 solo exhibitions in prestigious art centers, museums, and galleries worldwide, showcasing his work in countries such as Mexico, Spain, , Israel, the United States, and India. Notably, he participated in the UNESCO-organized traveling exhibition "Latin America Painters" from 1997 to 1998, which toured Latin America.
His work is featured in numerous public and private collections, and in 1994, he published graphics with the renowned Polígrafa in Barcelona. He has also published several works, including The Life and Its Drawings (1995), Periolibros (1997), and Object Almost (1999). Barbera has undertaken significant mural projects in Mexico City at locations such as Bookstore Gandhi, age Altavista, Lucent Technologies, Sports City, and Nelson Steep Slopes. Additionally, he created a monumental sculpture for the Conalep in Edomex.
