Nicola De Luca was born in Torre di Ruggiero, a small town in the Serre Calabre in the province of Catanzaro, where he still lives and works. He studied at the Art School of Reggio Calabria. After obtaining his artistic diploma, he enrolled in the Faculty of Architecture in Naples, where he graduated in 1980. Since then he has worked as an architect alongside an intense artistic production of a figurative nature, which arises from a deep analysis of the masterpieces of the masters of Italian figurative culture. His favorite expressive language is drawing, which he considers particularly suitable for the content to be transmitted. At the center of his artistic research is the female figure, explored in its essence through close-ups full of expressiveness. Often his works have a deeper and hidden meaning, expressed through the powerful tool of symbolism. Numerous personal and collective exhibitions have made his art accessible to a wide audience. His works have been ired in prestigious exhibition venues, including: Museo della Permanente Milano; Ancient Cloisters Turin; Museum of the Present Rende; Bramante Rooms Rome; Gagliardi Palace Vibo Valentia; Castle of Santa Severina; Museum of the Vesuvius Park; Museum of Praia a Mare; Ducal Castle Corigliano; Valentianum Vibo Valentia; Villa Zerbi Reggio Calabria; Museum of Contemporary Art of San Pietro a Maida; Provincial Palace Reggio Calabria; Palazzotto P. Motta Orta San Giulio; Aragonese Castle Castrovillari; Maschio Angioino Naples; Levi Library Turin; Renzo Piano Palace Novara; Madre Isabella De Rosis Museum Rossano; Staglianò Palace Chiaravalle Centrale; Monumental Complex of S. Domenico Lamezia Terme; Chimirri Palace Serra San Bruno; Limen Museum Vibo Valentia. In 2011 he was invited to the 54th Venice Biennale. Here he presented the work "Mediterranea", Italian Pavilion for Calabria; During his career he has received numerous awards and recognitions: Premio Arte Mondadori 2009 (diploma of honor from critics); Premio Città di Catanzaro 2007; Premio Biennale di Lamezia Terme 2009; Premio Città di Novara 2012.Invia commentiRiquadri lateraliCronologiaSalvate
