Ольга Степаненко родилась в городе Бологое, в 1969году.в детстве мечтала стать художником, но жизнь повернулась иначе. И только в возрасте 45 лет она смогла вернуться к своей мечте. Училась в частной школе живописи. [...]

Начав свою творческую деятельность с традиционных жанров: пейзаж, натюрморт; Ольга очень быстро выработала собственный узнаваемый стиль с интересом к определённым темам. Остросоциальные эпизоды из жизни городских обитателей в непосредственной и узнаваемой технике перемежаются с близкими к сюрреализму сюжетами. Основным источником являются её наблюдения за жизнью города.

Говоря от технической составляющей творчества, важно заметить, что для художника доминантна тема, а уже за ней художественное решение в выборе цвета и светотени.

Ещё одной особенностью творческого видения художника является декларация неполиткорректности, как творческого метода познания мира. Зрителю предоставляется возможность разделить или оспорить провокативность высказывания автора в данном проекте.

Работы Ольги мрачны, часто дискомфортны, но, при этом, способны вызвать спектр самых разных эмоций. Это повод для рефлексии о сложности и противоречивости человеческий природы. Взгляд на тёмную сторону человеческой личности.
