The painting is a beautiful display of two Siamese fighting fish (Betta splendens) gracefully facing each other, in a dance. One fish is a vivid red-orange as if wearing tiny flames in the dim light, while the other is a serene blue, radiating calm. The contrasting colors create visual harmony, evoking a sense of balance and unity between them.
The sense of love and companionship is palpable. The background of the painting is a deep, almost velvety black, enhancing the vividness of the fish and creating the illusion that the rest of the world is frozen in time. This darkness serves as a stark contrast to the bright, lively colors of the fish. It feels as though they are suspended in a moment of eternity, untouched by the outside world.
The painting is made with acrylics, with relief added to certain areas to enhance the 3D effect. This beautiful scene is set in a black wooden frame. The frame is simple, not drawing attention away from the central subjects but enhancing the artwork.
This painting is a symbolic representation of love and companionship. Although you may think fish cannot sing, it reminds me of a quote from Arne Garborg: "To love a person is to learn the song that is in their heart and to sing it to them when they have forgotten."

I was born in Venezuela with French and Spanish origins. Among other things, I am a Chemical Engineer, a doctor in Chemistry, an artist, and an animal lover. I live in Houten (Utrecht Area) in the Netherlands, and I feel at home in this open-minded, lovely country.

My paintings are mostly of animals or humans interacting with animals, and through them, I promote the love of animals. I also strive to show the greatness of animals and their importance in our lives on both a physical and spiritual level.

I connect with the animals when I am painting, especially through their eyes. I feel this pure love energy, which is amazing and therapeutic for me. I believe you can see part of this energy and its effect when you look at my work.
