It is important to me that the images are not unambiguous. While I tell my story, the viewer should be able to have their own interpretation. Every person has a different story and interprets images in their own way.

In my work, I also aim to address the question of how history is constructed and interpreted by attempting to create paintings that are both intellectually challenging and visually seductive. In my new paintings, I strive to create a strong blend of atmosphere and incident, solitude and omens. The new works portray situations as psychological events and describe journeys, transit, and places from an existential perspective. The sense of time and place in the works resembles that of the modern traveler, who is simultaneously isolated and stateless, often disionate yet vulnerable. Randomness and stasis often determine the mood. Color, form, and composition are tense, deliberate, and describe moments of open consciousness where a person finds themselves.

There is a sense of isolation, loneliness in a world of abundance and comfort, of being alone even when surrounded by people.

The images derive their fascination from the perspective construction of the composed space. The organization of space conjures up a strange mood and gives the viewer the impression that the space is assembled from different viewpoints in a cubist pattern.

In a similar way, I try to depict and construct in my work; motifs from the internet and magazines are taken out of their context. The newly constructed scenes are hints of a new story that I want to tell.

Rudi Cotroneo, a contemporary Italian painter now based in Vienna, stands at the intersection of art and history, creating evocative works that capture the essence of our tumultuous modern times. With a formal education rooted in the finest institutions of art, Rudi has emerged as a significant voice in the art world, offering a profound and serene perspective on the chaos of our dynamic world.

Rudi's journey into the realm of fine art began with a ion for painting that led him to pursue formal education in the field. He earned a degree in Fine Art (Painting) from the "Chelsea College of Art and Design" in London, United Kingdom and further honed his craft at the "Universität für Angewandte Kunst". These institutions provided him with the skills and knowledge needed to express his artistic vision on canvas.

What sets Rudi Cotroneo's work apart is his deep fascination with history and a genuine concern for the state of the modern world. In a time marked by turbulence and unrest, Rudi's paintings act as a respite—a longing for calm in the midst of chaos. Through his art, he seeks to unravel the complex dynamics that are shaping our world, often questioning the established norms and narratives that define our reality.

Rudi's canvases are windows into a world where tranquility prevails, offering viewers a chance to escape the noise and chaos of the contemporary era. His paintings possess an uncanny ability to evoke a sense of peace and reflection, inviting us to pause and contemplate the deeper currents of our existence.

In a world where the pace of life seems relentless and the certainties of history are constantly being challenged, Rudi Cotroneo's art serves as a reminder of the enduring power of visual expression to capture the essence of our times. With every brushstroke, he invites us to explore the nuances of our ever-changing world and discover moments of stillness amidst the chaos.
