Yann Michael Talvas is a contemporary French artist, born in Paris in 1969. He pursued an art history degree at university, complemented by studies in fashion design at the Institut Français de la Mode (IFM) in Paris and art evening classes at the prestigious Beaux-Arts de Paris.

Talvas initially embarked on a career in fashion design, working for seven years with renowned fashion houses Leonard Fashion and Balmain. Transitioning from fashion, he spent five years as an advertising illustrator, creating storyboards for major brands such as Nestlé, Orange, BMW, La Laitière, and Nutella.

In 2005, Talvas embraced his ion for painting professionally. He opened his own studio gallery in Pont-Aven, Brittany, in 2012. Six years later, in 2018, he relocated his studio gallery to Hennebont, Brittany, where he continues to create and exhibit his work.

Talvas's distinctive style features characters he refers to as "Fairy Boys." These figures don contemporary clothing and mimic human behaviors, often embodying a mix of the malicious and the grotesque. Through their glamorous, fashion-forward attitudes, they reflect and critique modern human postures and behaviors. The "Fairy Boys" sustain the tradition of fairy tales, serving as a mirror to humanity and capturing the essence of the present moment.
