Immerse yourself in the haunting beauty of Zakhar Shevchuk’s The Veil of Time, a 100x130 cm oil on canvas that captures the fragility of existence and the ephemeral nature of time. In this evocative composition, two figures sit shrouded in dim light, their forms dissolving into a deep, textured background. The earthy tones and flowing drips create an atmosphere of quiet introspection, as if the painting itself were whispering the secrets of time’s age. Shevchuk’s ability to balance light and shadow with a dynamic use of texture lends the piece a sense of timelessness and mystery.

As part of Shevchuk’s broader exploration of the interplay between figurative and abstract art, The Veil of Time offers viewers an opportunity to reflect on the deeper questions of memory, human frailty, and the impermanence of life. The painting’s layered textures and muted palette draw the viewer in, inviting them to uncover hidden meanings and connect with its universal themes. For collectors who appreciate art that combines aesthetic beauty with philosophical depth, The Veil of Time is a powerful addition that will inspire conversation and contemplation for years to come.

Zakhar Shevchuk is a young professional painter and draftsman, he holds a master in arts degree from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (Kyiv, Ukraine) and now himself teaches at the academy. His artworks are held in public and private collections worldwide, furthermore, he often participates in various public projects, such as painting murals and other monumental installations.

With years Zakhar's artistic style moved away from academic realism (which always tended closer to expressionism) and towards the style that in somewhere on the edge between figurative art and abstraction. In many of his works, even those that may seem as fully abstract ones, you will find some elements that were intentionally added, aiming to trick your brain into believing that you have finally found something recognisable, something that matches the reality, but then you suddenly loose it, starting the search over and over again.
